Postgraduate & Young Professionals Ministry
Postgrads and young professionals at Oxford Pres meet once a month on Sunday afternoons at the North Gate Hall for food and fellowship. This time doesn’t work for all, and members of the group are also found enjoying our midweek programme of prayer meetings, homegroups, men’s and women’s events, and Re:Formed.
Oxford and the surrounding towns support an extraordinary range of early stage career options and our church family reflects this diversity including teachers, cabinet makers, lorry drivers, doctors, entrepreneurs, caterers, and nuclear-power-station decommissioning experts!
Our location in the centre of the city has given us a warm affinity for the research students working in our city. Many members of our church family have passed through the process themselves and carry a wealth of experience about the business of surviving and thriving as a student when expectations are high and so much depends on self-motivation.
If you’re here for just a term using our libraries or for the full ride through from masters to doctorate, we would love to welcome you to our church and to play some small part as God enables in your growth as a worshipper, follower, and servant of Christ. Oxford Pres has a close relationship with B-Less – a ministry devoted to identifying ministry-minded graduate students and training and deploying them as encouragers, mentors, and evangelists among undergrads, directed by one of our elders, Neil. Scholarships are available for theology and philosophy students hoping to set aside substantial time for ministry alongside their studies toward MPhil and DPhil degrees.
